the styx-ferrier's daughterA fire tamer does not tame fire. The fire tamer is a dancer, and the fire the partner. Fire is a seductress, not a beast. The fire tamers understand this. They show the world this ballet of flames and fiery specks, the phantasmal waltz, that no one truly sees. The most infamous of the fire tamers was a girl, delicate but powerful, strong but fragile. A seductress to match her partner. Eyes that could crack a soul, but a single could shatter her--like a porcelain teacup.
The girl would travel the worlds, skating on blazes that would make fearsome knights tremble and pound their horses in the wrong direction. But the girl would not back down.
Lost in Fairy TalesPart of her liked winter. Part of her didn't.
She liked it when it snowed: the shower of sterility from cold flakes in the crisp air of the morning; the frozen patches where she twirled and spun until she fell, laughing, into the piles of white fluff; making snow angels with her soft white wings as the heavens rained drops of ice cream on her tongue.

This girl became convinced she could travel backwards and find herself again in the insects' embrace. Everyone tells her this is impossible. But she refuses to lose hope--because losing that would mean los
A Reason to LiveIf only she had the guts to actually do it, to just leap among the cold waves and sink in death among the fish. She breathed in the smell and taste of saltwater, and water sprays hit her face, neck, and chest. She shivered slightly in the breeze from the waves, but she wasn’t really bothered by the chill. What weighed on her mind was something much deeper than the weather.
A pang of apprehension penetrated her heart as she envisioned her body being plunged into the water and weighted down by the strong waves. She thought about what it would be like to gulp in mouthful after mouthful of water, choking and never feeling any relief, b
